The most toxic mold is stachybotrys, which is known for causing brain and nerve damage, and bleeding in the lungs. It can be deadly for some people. Also, Cladosporium, Fusarium, and Penicillium have toxic effects and can cause infections in the lungs and liver and kidneys.

I would think that any mold could be problematic, depending on one's sensitivity and immune impairment. I would do my best to eliminate all sources of it.

One thing you need to remember is that many of these molds are things that are found out in the air you breath in general. Stachybotrys is the worst and the one to avoid at all costs.

If I were you, I'd call a place that does mold clearance testing and just ask some questions. I found most people to be willing to talk to you to help to understand stuff and then you can make an informed decision of what you want to do.

I KNOW that aspergillis/Penicillin is 2 that are in the air everywhere and not that much to worry about. So don't freak out and talk to someone who is a mold specialist and really knows.

After my mold was removed I had a guy who does clearance testing do that using an air sample. There was plenty of mold outside but the levels outside should match the inside with the same kinds of mold.
