Couldn't see another thread for this.

I know a few of you have had this or do have it, I assume it's another immune manifestation. Mine started last year, this years crop on my leg is prob twice as big as last year. I am about to start 10% urea cream on it four times a day, which is meant to work like a treat.

Anyone found any good treatments that don't include hydrocortisone? The sub reddit for psoriasis is amazing but I thought I'd ask here too. Thanks.

I had it last year for the first time, too. On my toes. My father had psoriasis as long as I can remember and the Urea cream smelled awfully, so I went for salt. Footbaths with sea salt and Dead Sea creams seemed to stop its progression. I also started schisandra around that time, which is used in Chinese medicine for psoriasis.

I got rid of a horrible rash, that was on my legs for about eight years. It was not psoriasis, but it had no name, doctors scratched their heads, offered nothing of course.

So over ten months on chinese herbal tea, custom tea prepared just for me, the rash abruptly disappeared over two weeks and never came back.

I had psoriasis on my scalp for many years but it went away on its own. thank good ness, as I was having to wash my hair frequently due to the itch. And now I can go two weeks..........

I’ve had psoriasis my entire adulthood, ME made it worse.

@godlovesatrier Are you looking for topicals or systemics? I’ve done quite a few over the years. There are a lot of possible treatments for psoriasis

Do you think this would work for eczema as well? I don't have it but know someone who does.
Hm, possibly. Schisandra is used for inflammatory skin conditions in general, including eczema, but I have no idea about dosages or other specifics etc.

As for salt, I suppose when the eczema is open it would be too irritating. But otherwise it might be worth a try, very carefully and starting small, seeing how it feels. In my experience sea salt/ Dead sea is good for just about everything skin realted.

@godlovesatrier regarding hydrocortisone topical, may I ask what is your aversion to it? Any dermatologist would tell you it can be used indefinitely and will not cause skin thinning or other side effects. That’s why I find it useful because it works, though doesn’t last as long per application as others, but it won’t cause long term side effects pretty much no matter how much I use. Many of the other topicals that last longer have per application have risks of long term side effects.

For me Vitamin A - from 24.000 IU onward - prevented any further psoriasis outbreaks. However, only in the context of comprehensive supplementation of all other essential or conditionally essential nutrients.

I did do blood tests and reduced since reaching the upper limit of normal after many years only. Till now it stayed away.

I found the cure, well actually a treatment, for psoriasis. Since we are all different, I can't say it will work for everyone but I found this by doing searches and found some doctors that had luck with it

It is cbc an extract from the hemp plant. No, its not cbd, which most of us have heard about. A cbd creme helps a little with the symptoms but just a little. CBC is cannabichromene, cbd is cannabidiol. I buy my cbc from science.bio it comes in a liquid form mixed with some sort of oil

I've been using it for a few years now, you only need a tiny bit. I use the dropper but I use the dropper to just rub a bit on the skin then move the oil around with a finger. In my case I get it almost entirely on the face, it follows the beard line to some degree and is also on the forehead. Once or twice a day I look for any signs and put a little cbc oil on where the last flareup was or where its usually itchy

I paid around 25 or $30 per bottle and each bottle has lasted over a year, maybe a year and a half. If you can find it cheaper on the net, go for it. You want it in liquid form, you can also take it by mouth but it works better applied directly to the skin.

It doesn't do a lot for excema, unfortunately. For that a hydrocortizone ointment helps. As for itching, that is usually related in part to histamine so a low histamine diet may help or an antihistamine if its bad

Hi @godlovesatrier -- I've recently started using AI websites more and more, and am experimenting a lot with what kind of information I can glean from it. I watch a lot of Dr. Eric Berg's YouTube videos, and he has information on just about every health issue you can imagine.

I asked Perplexity (AI website) what Eric Berg had to say in his videos about psoriasis. Below is the reply. I believe @Hip has found NAG to be very helpful for anxiety. I've found it very helpful for morning stiffness.

According to Dr. Eric Berg's YouTube videos, the new natural remedy he recommends for psoriasis is N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG).Here are the key points he makes about using NAG for psoriasis:
  • NAG is a precursor to GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), which are structural components in skin that are abnormally broken down in psoriasis.
  • People with psoriasis often have higher levels of GAGs in their urine, indicating these components are being excessively broken down.
  • NAG can help regulate the rapid skin cell growth seen in psoriasis and stimulate production of new GAGs to repair the skin.
  • NAG also has an immunosuppressive effect that can help calm down the autoimmune reaction involved in psoriasis.
  • Dr. Berg recommends taking 1,000-2,000mg or more of NAG daily over time for psoriasis.
  • He suggests NAG can not only help with the skin manifestations of psoriasis, but may also benefit the gut issues and joint problems often associated with psoriasis due to NAG's role in maintaining the gut mucosal lining and joint cartilage.
So in summary, the new natural psoriasis remedy highlighted by Dr. Berg is the supplement N-Acetyl Glucosamine (NAG), which he presents as a way to address the underlying GAG deficiency and autoimmune aspects of psoriasis.

I will definitely try nag to see what it does for me. That is an internally used drug so it will affect the whole body. It might do some things that CBC doesn't do, but CBC definitely works while NAG might or might not work for me. If I can just take a capsule every day rather than put on the serum that might be easier. I have to watch close because soon as I see a tiny bit of redness, its time to hit it with the CBC rather than see if it gets worse the next day. Catch it early and no problem, let it get a grip on you and it takes a few days to go away.

I will likely continue to take both and perhaps using both will do something for excema which I have a little but isn't a big problem. Is NAG cheap? I dont know but when it comes to your health, thats important. I believe NAG has some other beneficial effects. I take around 50 things a day so one more won't hurt. Better than eating worms

Is NAG cheap?
Hi @Florida Guy -- I buy mine in bulk on Amazon.

I think it's good for cartilage, and much more. I noticed much less morning stiffness after the very first dose I took the night before. Now that's impressive!

I've had a lifetime history of psoriasis, and had it on every square inch of my body when I was about 5 years old. One of the things that really helped me during a body wide outbreak in my 20's was a tea with blood cleansing herbs formulated by a guy named Jason Winters, which he used to cure himself of cancer.

I drank a cup in the evening, and the psoriasis was noticeably better the next morning, and was completely cleared up by the end of the week. It worked repeatedly over the years, but I no longer get psoriasis outbreaks (don't know exactly why, just guesses). If you decide to check it out, I would recommend the "original" formula with chaparral. Unfortunately, it's a bit pricey.

It looks fairly cheap or at least reasonable. I ordered a bottle, I will try it but it will likely be a month or two before I know what it does. It might help with the back or the arthritic ankle. Anything with glucosamine should help with that and maybe it will help with other things too

Yeah, I looked at that and I am not convinced. PEMF is just a pulsed field of magnetic radiation. There are people who claim emf hurts them that they can feel wifi and it gives pem. This video says they should feel better. They do not give an actual scientific reason why its supposed to work. They say your body pulses and this device will help the heart move blood through the body. This is the first I've heard of "pulses" 3 to 5 times a minute that help your heart work and emf helps it. I'm not a doctor but I've studied these things on my own for decades and I smell bs. Walking helps move blood through the legs. The feet pressing on the ground helps circulation a bit but that is totally different

There are too many red flags in this presentation. Besides not having a scientific basis for working, they say 110 patients tried it and 100% were fully cured??? Since when does anything work 100% well on all patients the first time they use it? Why are there no links to any research papers on it or its principles? They don't even give a price in the video. Save your money, this is a rip off

Wayne, I'm not criticizing you at all. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It sounds good the way they present it but I was an electrical engineer in my younger days. I've seen a lot of quack inventions and IMO this is one of them. I wouldn't try it free
