Oxygen and hypoxia problems when my brain is in calm state I need to make my brain stimulated all time

When I lie down or enter a parasympathetic state, my SpO₂ can drop as low as 80%. I feel mentally slow, weak, disconnected, with dry saliva and fading taste—like I’m shutting down.

Staying mentally active (talking, thinking, moving my eyes) and being near fresh air improves it. But lying flat, deep relaxation, salt, and electrolyte drinks make it worse.

The more I close my eyes and ears and reduce stimulants, the worse the oxygen problem gets.

Paradoxically, things that usually calm inflammation—like sunlight or ice packs—trigger these episodes.

Does your heart rate go down as well?

When I have severe PEM, my heart rate goes down to 40bpm or even high 30s when I rest. But as soon as I move an arm or leg, it starts to go back up. My O2 doesn't go down though.

I wonder if drugs to improve circulation would help? I've been interested in pentoxifylline (Trental) but I haven't tried it myself. There's also sildenafil (Viagra) or gingko biloba.

If you can't get ahold of one of those maybe deep breathing will help get your O2 up? Or try lying on your stomach instead of on your back?

that sounds horrific!

i would suspect a adrenal gland issue maybe?
does cortisol improve it? did you measure a daily cortisol curve with like 5-7 saliva measurements?

there is a drug named codein in germany, used to raise heart rate, i do not know if this is good for you, talk to a doctor about this.
what about caffeine, or dark chocolate?

did you try higher dose vitamin c and b5?
maybe iron? red meat?

@youness, are you able to get your name down to see an autonomic neurologist? They are usually pretty helpful with unusual symptoms and can refer you on or treat you in tandem with another specialty if needed.

Unfortunately, there aren’t many of them about and they tend to have long waiting lists.

@youness, I’m sorry to hear that.

What happens to your blood pressure and heart rate when your SpO2 goes down?

I didn't measure them but I think my heart rate goes low
I don't have blood pressure device
But the clear one is eyes and ears if I cover my eyes I will start feel mental oxygen fatigue if I close both ears and eyes I will be close to lose consciousness until my body panic
All the things that helps with stimulants makes things worse like mestinon and salt water
