New research package?

To all,
Is there a good document with a summary we can give new reaserchers that want to enter the field? I have somebody interested but is hard to go through all the PACE garbage or xmrv disaster.
Like a document w relevant theories and where things stand Today?

OMG this is great Stuff, we should put a welcome package with this stuff! Thank you all. I am trying to get new researchers.

While at it, does anybody know of funding, or any way for new researcher to apply for funding??? Ideas?
