Another "our bodies are even more complex" discovery. When stressed, mitochondria are more likely to insert some of their DNA into the host cell's DNA, possibly affecting that cell's functions. I suppose ME could be the result of such DNA errors, and since they won't show up on blood tests, the possibility hasn't been explored yet. The research focused on brain cells.
