ME and the MTHFR gene mutation?

Meandering around the #MEAction Facebook page, and it seems that quite a few folks are finding that they have either a single or double mutation of the MTHFR gene. Given how many said they do, just in a brief read, has this been researched at all, as a possible diagnostic tool? I can't seem to find anything recent.

As between something like 6-19% of people have that (depending on where you are from), it cant be used to diagnose anything in particular. Just increases chances of certain things.
