Lyme Culture Test

Hello everyone,

Wondering if anyone has taken new Lyme culture test? My doctor has recommended I take it, but apart from the cost, I'm concerned by CDC study finding that 80% of the positives were result of contamination. Anyone have any experience or thoughts about the test?

I haven't done the culture myself but, just a thought, you could ask about taking the LTT test for Borrelia. It has a good success rate. I only used to be offered by Infectolab in Germany, but now is also offered by Igenex in the US. Sorry, I forget what country you are in!

What is the LTT test? I've taken igenex tests in the past,not sure what kind.

And I live pretty close to Igenex! I have dropped off sample at their office.

I did do it JAH and was negative. But after reviewing the study you sent, if I were positive I wouldn't trust it.
