Itraconazole or Other Antifungals

Anyone have experience with itraconazole (dosages that worked well, etc), or other antifungals?

I took nystatin once in the past, but I think it really stays in the gut and doesn't have systemic effects. As various anti-pathogen stuff is the only thing that moves the needle for me, it makes me wonder - especially because things like allicin which work well at high dosages are anti-everything, so it's hard to nail down. Antibiotics sometimes work great for me, but stop working quickly.

Even washing my face with Nizoral makes my brain fog temporarily recede in a way that washing my face with soap doesn't do. That seems weird because I wouldn't expect any systemic effects for that, but maybe there's slight absorption.

Anyways, considering trying a course of itraconazole, but hard to know how long to try, whether 100mg is too much (would be nice to have smaller dosages available to titrate), etc.

Also, since a lot of my decline was around the same time that I was exposed to an allergen - that makes me wonder if the constant coughing might have drawn something fungal deeper into the lungs, where my system would've normally filtered it out. I didn't move or have a chance in mold exposure - and various types of mold tests didn't turn up anything. I know that's not conclusive, but also moving several times and leaving all my belongings behind didn't do much. CSM didn't help much - but stuff like andrographis, allicin, etc all make a big difference, especially in my constant cognitive issues.

I didnt but I have read that Itraconazole is very harsh on the liver etc so I wanted to give you a different option to look out for

Fluconazole might be not so effective vs specific strains of mold, in comparison to itraconazole so you wann get that checked :)

To ward off sinus fungal infections, my ENT has me take a 200 MG Fluconazole tablet twice a week. I haven't noticed any side effects. Also, to prevent fungus overgrowth in my sinuses, she suggested Orthobiotic Powder from the brand Otho Molecular. It's normally around $35 or $36 for 51 grams (1.8 oz) size, but some sites really overcharge.

The particular strain in Orthobiotic that helps prevent fungus overgrowth is sacchararomyces boulardi, which is also available in lower-priced products such as Jarrow Saccharomyces Boulardii + MOS.

The ENT used to prescribe Itraconazole for adding to my sinus rinse. I haven't taken it orally, but I seem to remember her saying that normally she doesn't prescribe it for oral use. Since I've started taking Fluconazole twice a week along with daily Orthobiotic powder or the Jarrow product I mentioned above, fungus overgrowth no longer shows up on my sinus cultures.
