Increased PGE2 - what does it mean? Solution?

Hi all, please, is there anyone, who can explain what is increased PGE2 (LPS related)?
I would like to understand what this affects and what is the solution.

Thanks a lot! I know, it often appears in tests from KDM.
Does he explain it?

best regards, Martin

Prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) has numerous functions in the body, so you can't pin its action down to just one thing. In rheumatoid arthritis, PGE2 mediates inflammation.

NSAID drugs like ibuprofen strongly inhibit LPS-stimulated PGE2 production. Ref: here

Is there any suspicion of Mast Cell disorders?

It could also be a mistake made by the lab, PGD2 is implicated in MCAS and I wouldn't be too surprised if someone ran PGE2 by mistake.

Hey, thanks a lot @Hip for some words about...
@ryan31337 MCAS is thing, what I'm thinking about now. I'm on Antabuse for Lyme now - trying, if Lyme is still my main problem....waiting for reactions. Looks like, its a good way for finding out the situation with this infection and some co-infections!
But...my CFS need more comprehensive approach, I still miss something seems to fold a mosaic.
Now Im trying to find, what to do best for MCAS (sure quercetin and low histamine diet, but it's a little complex)

I also have finally 3T MR of my back and head for elimination CCI/EDS/chiari and someting else...
I'm glad things are moving, because my CFS is stil worse and worse...slowly, but yes. Now mostly bedridden...

Hey @ryan31337 thanks a lot again, I did a big investigation and looks like Nalcrom makes me really, really better and less inflamed. But it was with my Antabus test for possible Lyme. Now I'm without all drugs and feel pretty sick! Now I want to try only Nalcrom (3x100mg 3x day) and see what happens! I did all on my own because near me isn't a good specialist and I'm too sick to travel around Europe. Do you have someone good in England?
KDM in past talked about MCAS in my cause, but he paid no great attention to it.

@Hip This is really amazing article about natural NSAID drugs!

I did a big investigation to NSAID like Celebrex, but I'm really scared to try it because no nice side effects.
Someone here told I think something about good combo like Boswellia + Propolis + Aspirin to inhibit COX-1 and COX-2...and PGE2.
I'd love to try something out of it, but I don't know what's best to try. I'm trying to study a lot, but unfortunately I have a headache when reading a lot, I'm sorry. So I have to ask a lot...

Thanks a lot guys!
Martin

There are other safe non-NSAID anti-inflammatories you can try, like turmeric. I take 1000 mg twice daily when I use this. I also find N-acetyl glucosamine useful, and I think this may have anti-inflammatory effects in the brain.

@Hip Yeah, I did the same dose of turmeric/curcumin like you a long time. But without effect. I think the problem is with availability for the body. Did you try liposomal turmeric/curcumin?

I tried high absorption curcumin like Meriva, and the Solgar NovaSOL curcumin, but turmeric works better for me. Turmeric has extra anti-inflammatory compounds in it which you do not get with curcumin.

But N-acetyl glucosamine 700 mg to 1400 mg works best for me. I can feel it having an anti-inflammatory effect in my nose and sinuses. I buy the Jarrow brand of N-acetyl glucosamine.

In terms of COX-2 inhibitors, I found bee propolis useful, but only at high doses, like 4 x 1000 mg capsules. If I remember rightly, I used the "Bee Health" propolis brand, which was good value, and so allowed me to take lots of capsules.

If you want to try NSAIDs, you can try taking transdermally: take an ibuprofen tablet, crush it into a fine powder, then rub that powder into a large area of your skin (eg across your thighs), adding one or two drops of water to help absorption. This helps avoid the stomach damage that long-term NSAIDS can cause.

You can also buy ibuprofen gel specially made to place on the skin. But note that:
Ibuprofen takes 20 to 30 minutes to work if you take it by mouth. It takes 1 to 2 days to work if you put it on your skin.

One supplement which I found had a strong anti-inflammatory effect in the brain is NSI-189, which you can buy on websites like Intellimeds, which sell nootropics supplements (cognitive enhancers). I could feel the inflammation being soothed with this NSI-189 supplement.

NSI-189 is best taken sublingually (open up the capsule, and rub the powder on your gums and cheeks inside your mouth, and under the tongue).
