@Hip Yeah, I did the same dose of turmeric/curcumin like you a long time. But without effect. I think the problem is with availability for the body. Did you try liposomal turmeric/curcumin?
I tried high absorption curcumin like Meriva, and the Solgar NovaSOL curcumin, but turmeric works better for me. Turmeric has extra anti-inflammatory compounds in it which you do not get with curcumin.
But N-acetyl glucosamine 700 mg to 1400 mg works best for me. I can feel it having an anti-inflammatory effect in my nose and sinuses. I buy the
Jarrow brand of N-acetyl glucosamine.
In terms of COX-2 inhibitors, I found bee propolis useful, but only at high doses, like 4 x 1000 mg capsules. If I remember rightly, I used the
"Bee Health" propolis brand, which was good value, and so allowed me to take lots of capsules.
If you want to try NSAIDs, you can try taking transdermally: take an ibuprofen tablet, crush it into a fine powder, then rub that powder into a large area of your skin (eg across your thighs), adding one or two drops of water to help absorption. This helps avoid the stomach damage that long-term NSAIDS can cause.
You can also buy ibuprofen gel specially made to place on the skin. But note that:
Ibuprofen takes 20 to 30 minutes to work if you take it by mouth. It takes 1 to 2 days to work if you put it on your skin.
