Hey,

So i discovered this by accident, i toke "too much" Vitamin D3 + K2 MK7 Drops.
1 Drop cotains 200 microgram Vitamin K2 MK7, i took about 2mg, and then later up to 7mg.
I had and have a huge response, brain fog huge clear, more awake, more energy.
I discovered the study:

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9003256/

"vitamin K2 significantly inhibited ... downregulation of the MFN1/2 level and upregulation of the DRP1 level, respectively, and this enabled cells to maintain the dynamic balance of mitochondrial fusion and fission."

"Vitamin K2 played a significant part in... maintain mitochondrial structure and functional stabilities."

This solves in my opinion one or THE main cause of ME / CFS.
Prusty said DRP1 is increased and MFN downregulated. so Vitamin K2 aids excactly at the right spot.

Would be interesting if other respond good as well

I take both, 0.6 mg Mk-7, and 18 mg Mk-4 per day in average for the last 16 years. Though brain fog was only an issue during PEMs, those are now in remission for me for 6 years.

So the big question to you, how long you did take such 2-7 mg/d doses of Mk-7? Until it had this effect?

Could you maintain your results with lower maintenance doses?

Are you sure the Vitamin D3 wasn't the crucial ingredient? (I'm asking, because in my case an accidentally highest serum 25(OH)D3 of 135 ng/ml was, what ignited remissions)

Im confident to say that i can seperate the effect of vitamin d3 ( and metabolits ) and vktamin k2.
Its definitly the K2.
Furthermore i now have only K2 Drops and its still the same positive effect.
This feels like direct street to remission right now. I dont know, it feels like i can breath really well and use the oxygen, i think the aerobic cellular respiration is working.
I need to take it over the day to maintain effect. I think in my case ebv and the oxidative stress is damaging my mitchondria, poor little things :(

I hope on long term this solves also the immune exhaustion as it is i think also due to mito dysfunction in the end.
So if they work, the Immune and especially the CD8+ Cells hopefullly work better to clear infection.

@pamojja Its only my 4th day. but i definitly feel that i need a relatily high dose to maintain the effect over the day.

You might consider contacting Pat Theut (https://www.k-vitamins.com/index.php?page=research-view-all#)

He is an animal in digging deep in the research. Lists decades of vitamin K research on his side. Actually, when he searched a high dose K2 supplement more than 15 years ago, none was available, therefore begun to produce it himself.

Time for a new vitamin K chapter?

Edit: your study is already there under Dementia.

If I drop K2 at my 100 mcg dose I'm probably toast, it was one of the first things that sparked anything. Wasn't a solution but became one of the crucial things I had to take post my worst crash to keep myself alive. I never needed it before but I need it now for whatever reason but I should be taking it now anyways because I'm also on D3. Largely it just gave me more overall physical energy and a little more mental stability. I wasn't as weak anymore with it.

I have been taking both Vit K2-MK4 AND Vit K2-MK7 with different products of MK7 but always the same MK4. I take 15mgx2 daily, down from 18mgx2 and 200ug MK7 twice daily. Both have anti inflammatory effects. I take them both for their anti inflammatory effects and to keep calcium where I want it and away from my circulatory system because with so much inflammation with both ME & Lyme disease and server digestive permeability issues and a family history of heart disease I need to try and prevent any further worsening of my circulatory system.
I would prefer to spread the MK4 out more but I have to take it at set times to avoid further problems. Things are significantly worse since being bitten by a damn tick.

Ah a fellow lyme haver, wonder if K2 specifically does us in that bubble well in general. I don't see K2 slinged around too much in those communities in any lyme specific context. So you take both Mk7 and 4. Do you notice when you have only one or the other? How do the effects differ for you on their own?

Is there a particular benefit to taking those huge doses of MK4 form instead of just taking MK7 at a slightly higher dose? Just wondering.
