High Bacterial Markers

I have two specific Bacterial Markers from my OAT that I'm still confused about:
Very high 2-Hydroxyphenylacetic and very high 4-Hydroxybenzoic.
There's definitely a major digestive issue happening, I'm just wondering if these levels are related somehow?
Thanks.

According to the Great Plains Guide:

2-Hydroxyphenylacetic Acid Elevated

2-hydroxyphenylacetic acid is associated with intestinal bacteria overgrowth. High-potency multi-strain probiotics may help rebalance GI flora.

AND

4-Hydroxybenzoic Acid

A marker for intestinal dysbiosis. Results may also show elevated values as a result of ingestion of foods such as jams and pie fillings containing paraben preservatives. The use of probiotics and the exclusion of paraben-containing foods is the first treatment consideration.

Both of these seem to be linked to styrene and paraben exposure. Both of these articles mention these acids directly:
http://www.hmdb.ca/metabolites/HMDB0000669
https://www.ewg.org/skindeep/ingredient/704450/4-HYDROXYBENZOIC_ACID/#.W4QcG8InZhF

Which is interesting, because I also have very high Mandelic acid level, which is also associated with exposure to styrene.
I can't imagine how I'm exposed to these things any more than anyone else. The high mandelic acid explanation mentions that "Ascorbic acid deficiency may also be related to this abnormality since ascorbic acid is a cofactor for phenylalanine hydroxylase" and that supplementation with vitamin C might be beneficial. Which is also interesting because my ascorbic acid level is almost zero according to this OAT.

Styrene is related to plastic exposure.

Being deficient in vitamin C is not good. Mine was low as well. My doctor had me increase to 9mg daily, divided into 3 doses.

I think vitamin C stores get used up really fast when we're fighting infection or other illnesses.
This was posted in another thread, really interesting info regarding vitamin C...
