An article from May 2019, about a discovery of a soil organism which produces a fatty acid that helps mediate inflammation and increase resilience to stress:

'Thirty years after scientists coined the term “hygiene hypothesis” to suggest that increased exposure to microorganisms could benefit health, University of Colorado Boulder researchers have identified an anti-inflammatory fat in a soil-dwelling bacterium that may be responsible.'

Looks like this anti-inflammatory fatty acid from soil bacteria activates the peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor alpha (PPAR-alpha). Thus any supplements or drugs which agonize PPAR-alpha may also have these beneficial anti-inflammatory effects.

From this article listing PPAR agonists, it seems that the triglyceride and cholesterol-lowering drugs clofibrate, gemfibrozil, ciprofibrate, bezafibrate and fenofibrate all agonize PPAR-alpha.

One study found fenofibrate has anti-inflammatory effects in rheumatoid arthritis.
