Glymphatic Pump Massage?

i read a study about how a medication usually used to induce labor (iirc; i can't find said study rn, if you know which one i am talking about please lmk!) was successfully used in rats to improve the function of the glymphatic pumps (the brain's waste disposal system) and thus rejuvenate the "brain age" of the rats.

i guess PwME have a lot of brain-waste to dispose of so my question now is: has anybody tried messaging the region of the neck where the pumps are located? for me this would be below the ears and slightly to the rear of the neck. sometimes i get a sharp stabbing pain there (i then have to tilt my head and open my mouth for some relief) when i suspect the pumps are doing their job.

i tried rolling the region with a small massage/fasciae ball and it is quite painful even without much pressure but not long enough to tell if it makes a difference yet. i will continue and report back!

thanks, that's interesting!
Dexmedetomidine, sold under the brand name Precedex among others, is a medication used for sedation.
from: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dexmedetomidine

but it sounds like the opposite of what i had in mind. i never heard of the drug when i read it but i am pretty sure it was something used to induce labor (i was curious if it was FDA approved, that's why i looked it up but i also could be misremembering).

i am suffering from a massive headache today (took two painkillers already and they did barely anything) and i am not sure if it is related to the massage or something else but headaches are usually rather uncommon for me (especially of this magnitude). the only other thing i can think of it's because of the prednisolone withdrawal (today is the 5th day off after taking it for a week)?

I really need to get my glymphatic system flowing. I have a NHL diagnosis, also. So this news is exciting.

with "bubble" like a knot or something

I can't feel a knot there per se. it's like intense pressure, hence the term bubble. Usually short lived.

Perhaps it's related to wind, a chinese medicine term. Wind can blow in and blow out and move around.

gotcha, i think that's what i'm trying to mitigate with tilting my head and opening my mouth!

I am trying to do more direct lymph massage, here. It seems like I can tolerate about one minutes worth of doing this.

The neck area is very congested. Full of anatomy that is complaining alot.

finding the tender areas seems to be much easier with the ball.
and i think my headache was potassium related (even though i didn't do any B12) it finally got better after taking some.
