Dr Hanson and Dr Chia support the theory of chronic enterovirus non cytolytic infection as the driving mechanism in MECFS. This potential treatment would be worthy of consideration/investment.

Looks very promising. This article says:

The researchers experimentally tested Cas13's activity in human cells infected with one of three distinct RNA-based viruses: lymphocytic choriomeningitis virus (LCMV), influenza A virus (IAV), and vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV). They introduced the Cas13 gene and an engineered guide RNA into the cells, and 24 hours later, exposed the cells to the virus. After another 24 hours, the Cas13 enzymes had reduced the level of viral RNA in the cell cultures by up to 40-fold.

My son working on CRISPR related research funded by DARPA. He has mentioned potentially pursuing CRISPR/Cas13 for his post grad research.

I hope there's a big pivot in general towards regenerative medicine and gene editing tools.
Seems like a no trainer.
