Cerebral vasodilators

I thought I had explored all the vasodilators, but I suddenly googled “cerebral vasodilators” this evening for no particular reason and this entry came up:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cerebral_vasodilator

Ifenprodil is the example given, and it is available in Japan.

Does anyone know anything about these? Ifenprodil is described as an NMDA receptor inhibitor.

It has been mentioned on this forum just once:

Note that I have a certain type of OCHOS that causes abnormal vasoconstriction of the cerebral blood vessels on the way in to the brain. Some people with ME/CFS probably have this too, but it hasn’t been widely diagnosed yet. For most people with classical OI as part of their ME/CFS, vasodilators are something to be cautious with.

I decided to send off to Japan for a small packet and see what happens. It seems to be different in its mechanism to the other vasodilators I’ve tried so far.

Who knows, maybe this will be the last piece in my treatment strategy, which currently has me me somewhat better but still not able to cook or pop over the road to the shops.

If I could get back to the point of preparing simple meals without getting exhausted, it would be such a relief. I had major bowel surgery and am now minus my colon, so it is important for me to prepare my own food, especially as I live in a small country town with not much choice in prepared food.
