It sounds like they're cherrypicking facts in hopes of getting funding. The symptoms of intestinal candidiasis are only vaguely similar to ME and many other unrelated diseases, and more importantly, despite plenty of effective antifungal treatments available, I can't recall any reports of them effectively treating ME. I certainly wouldn't support funding this hypothesis.

Too much wild partying (with alcohol, drugs, etc) may cause fatigue, brainfog and poor sleep too. Should that get ME funding too?

This paper is from 1995. Might have just been during the phase where "candida overgrowth" was a trendy topic. I don't think anybody would ever try to fund current research with this paper from 30 years ago.

I thought the paper was interesting.

Somebody might want to start doing some serious looking into candida/fungal issues.

You might be interested in Kurt's blog though he hasn't been around here much lately so I don't know if that means he improved (hopefully): https://forums.phoenixrising.me/blog-articles/blog/kurt.41/

Also noticed you mentioned colostrum on another thread but didn't want to take the thread off topic too much. Do you find the colostrum helps with Candida? What is your protocol for that now?

Usually when these papers refer to chronic fatigue syndrome but don’t mention ME/CFS they are talking basically about ‘chronic fatigue’ the symptom of many diseases but not ME. Interesting paper still
