Sounds like there's a gene that accounts for some people having recurring cold sore outbreaks. Presumably this reflects HSV-1 re-activating?

Very interesting - thanks Valentijin - (life-long outbreaks of herpes sores around the mouth off and on - it's still the same virus as far as I know).
