Any recoomendadtions for genetic test labs?

It seems there are so many genetic test labs out there now. Does anyone have recommendations? I had the holistic heal lab done 15 years ago (when it was $1200 or was it $1500?), it is now $530, still pricey. I see there is another lab at GenMax (or is it MaxGen?). It does not have all the same SNPs as at Holistic heal, but it has some of them, a total of 80 SNPs, costs $199, and includes some CYP SNPs I would dearly love to know. I am ordering a lab for my bf for his birthday and really don't want to spend $530. Is there a methlation panel for around $200 that is as good as holisticheal? Thanks!

It's been a number of years since I had a full genome test done at Dante Labs when the price was lower than you paid for the SNP's. I have done practically nothing with the results because I don't want to upload my genome to some website. I was looking for software which would allow me to browse my genes locally to check various SNP's but I never found anything which I liked. Other things swallowed my time. Various companies charge for the analysis once you have the full genome done.

There was some criticism at one time because of the time it was taking them to do the testing. I don't know whether they sorted that out or not.

It depends upon what you think about companies having access to your DNA data and where it goes and what purpose it is put to. I don't want my DNA data going to who knows where. There are many Chinese owned companies in this area and you never know what purpose the DNA data will be put to. I prefer to keep it to myself. Who know what could be targeted in future, maybe some illness or virus which targets certain DNA SNP's common in the Western world? I just won't have my DNA data going anywhere I don't know or at least I will limit it as much as I possibly can.
