I upped my pm dose today at 3/8 so I am now at 6/8 tablet per day or 22,5 mg. I definitely crashed from my gym mishap on april 7th and I am still not over it. I have a little bit of turmoil in my life that's not helping. I will try to up the meds faster, to get to the 60mg barrier, which is more a realistic dose for me to see benefits. Starting when I reach the 1/2 tablet, I will try increasing 1/4 per week instead of 1/8. If it's too much I'll go back to the previos dose. Also, there is a drug you can get so it counters the side effects of Nimodipine if you ever take too much. I will get it from my doc next time I see him, just to be on the safe side. I tend to worry about those things and it will reassure me.

That's it now. Now particularly a fun time for me right now.

shrooms are cool
as about dying - i had such thoughts very often in a yearly stages, but then, with time, i think i was somewhat able to "get over" being in that state, so it stopped bothering me eventually. like the saying goes "ppl get used to everything", so just try to wait longer, coz there is no other "good" way anyway :D

Hvac14400,

Please write a PM to me. I wanted to address you, but you have no active function for that.
Please. It's an urgent matter

@Dechi Hi, I am getting my Nimodipine very soon and starting it. God willing it will go well.
I am getting a generic brand. Can I ask if your tablet size is 30mg?
I'm getting a decent price, 20 tabs for $125. Starting off slow and working up.

@Bansaw yes, my tablets are 30 mg. I started at 1/8 tablet on march 9 and I am now at 30 mg per day. I was at 37,5mg but had to go back to 30mg. I will be increasing again to 37,5 mg in a few days.

I have seen improvements in my energy level but I feel I Haven't reached the right dosage yet, so I will be continuing until I do.

Good luck and come and tell us about it !

Update. I am now on 45mg per day. 22.5 mg morning and 22.5 mg afternoon. I am feeling better, and my symptoms are low. I am still tired, and my eyelids still feel heavy starting from about noon. I also have muscle fatigue after a while, not 6-8 seconds like before, maybe 30 seconds or more. My energy is not through the roof, but it is fair. I haven't crashed since the 7th of april, when it took me more than 2 weeks to feel better. So I have been of for a little less than 3 weeks.

I was amazed this week because I had to clean the leaves in the pool all by myself, and had no crash thereafter (that was 2 days ago). This job was physical, wet leaves are heavy and it was sunny. I took at least 3-4 breaks. I have not slept so well the last two days either, so this should have triggered a crash. The day after the pool my daughter was operated on, so I spent the day in the hospital. Stressful. And today, I mowed the lawn. I did it in two parts, maybe 30 minutes and 20 minutes. I am still okay. This would not have been possible just 3-4 weeks ago without having to pay desrly for it.

I also stopped the gym. Even though I was following a strict routine, it was tempting to overdo it amd sometimes I pushed myself too much. I now do a few rounds of 6 reps of weight lifting at home, totallimg 3-4 minutes of exercise spread over 12 hours.

I am optimistic. I will be upping the dose until I reach the maximum dose I can take without side effects. I feel like I am slowly getting there.

I got some Nimodipine now. They are tablets with a hard shell but with liquid inside. I got a pill splitter and tried to half it but the liquid spilled out. YOu cannot split these pills. Looks like I have to take a whole one. : (
Are your Nimodipine pills solid?

@Bansaw Ohhh, I am so sorry, you got the liquid form, the first that was manufactured. These are not very good for us because we don't usually do well with meds and most of all, you have to increase the dosage very slowly. I had a reaction at 1/4 tablet, so I can't imagine with a whole 30mg one.

Can you return them and exchange them for the solid form ?

I just spoke to my Pharmacy and they said the capsule with the liquid in it is the only form available. They said it also comes in an oral solution which you take by the teaspoon, but there is no solid form available.
Can I ask @Dechi , where you got your solid forms from?

@Bansaw Maybe it's the only form available to them, but certainly not to the rest of the world... I got mine from my local pharmacy in Quebec, Canada. They order the original tablets from Bayer. Apparently the ones from Bayer are harder to find now, depending on your country.

In Canada we can only give meds if they are prescribed from a canadian doctor, so that wouldn't work for you. I know someone feom France who couldn't find it in her country and she told me she just ordered a generic form via a US website. She hasn't received them yet so I couldn't say how well it went.

Go on Bayer's website and check if you can find a local number and call them, they should be able to help you. What country are you from ?

With the oral solution, I guess you'd be able to weigh it on a kitchen scale and up your dose. If you call them, do they think it's feasable ? Or even measure with a small seringe. I think that would work !

Hmmmm, I just phoned Bayer and they discontinued it in 2008. Someone else is making it I guess.
I might just take 1 capsule and be wary, and see how it goes.
The oral solution is about $2,000 to buy!

Bayer couldn't help you to find the tablets somewhere near you ?

Be very careful if you take the 30mg capsule. Stay home for the day, no driving. Can you cut it in half at least, even if you lose the other half ? At least you'll know if 15mg is too much, and if so, no use in trying the whole cap.

The side effects are very unpleasant. At least they were for me.

@Bansaw How's it going with your trial ?
Yeah, OK. I was concerned about side effects, but none so far. I did feel a slight mental boost at 30mg and I'm continuing with one cap per day and I'll bump it up next week. Very mild heachache 1st day...
So, four days into it, I notice a slight boost. I am starting to take goinko and primrose oil now, and glutamate, and I'll slowly increase these.
My doc (other doc) said don't try Nimotop but try Huperzine instead. I ignored her temporarily but might try huperzine next if I get no lasting benefit from Nimotop.

Thanks for the update. Let me know how it goes when you increase. I'll check huperzine too.

The page you linked is under maintenance so I can't see it. Personnally I wouldn't do it without a prescription and a doctor to work with me. The meds from this site might not be regulated and you might end up with a deficient product and cause harm to yourself. Also you need to have a physician to help you and order blood tests once in a while. This is a serious drug.

You should work on convincing your doctor to help you. Print documentation and have him read it. Are you diagnosed yet and if so, the doctor who diagnosed you isn't willing to help ? Bring him Susan Parker's document, this is a very good start.

Thanks for the reply. Yes , i was diagnosed with ME/CFS 6 and a half years ago and also have Elhers danlos syndrome- hypermobile type. This was done by a brilliant doctor when I lived else where, so I have no contact with him now. Unfortunately, all the GPs in my surgery are strictly "by the book" and will not prescribe any off label medicine to me unless they have the nearby CFS "specialist's" consent. This guy is really bad from my experience when I saw him, he sees CFS/ME as a purely stress induced illness, says he won't prescribe any medicines for me and only offers CBT and graded exercise. I printed Susan's report and gave it to a GP and explained, but had no luck, everything has to go through this awful close minded doctor, so I have no chance. However, Dr. Myhill may prescribe it, I did ask her before but she said she wasn;t convinced with it being effective and consequently refused, I will ask her again though and see. I did already order the nimodipine from the website after getting other positive reviews, but I will wait to actually take them or not

I took Nimodipine for the last two weeks but just had to stop because of disconcerting side effects which were palpitations and chest tightness. I put up with the heaviness and tight-chestedness for two weeks but decided to stop when the palpitaions came. However, it did seem to improve cognition and help otherwise.

Anyway, I was encouraged by the blood flow that Nimodipine provided and how it seemed to help, so I ordered Huperzine & Vinpocetine to see if they can give me the benefits without the side effects.
My doctor three weeks ago said I shouldnt try Nimodipine and she, at that point, recommended Huperzine instead. And my other doctor had actually written an artcile on Vinpocetine and Huperzine.
So, we'll see what happens. I was happy to see that both these supps werent that expensive (source naturals).
