Some of the advice about using a heart rate monitor talks about measuring the Morning Resting heart Rate (relax for 10 or 15 mins then measure your heart rate over a 10 min period.) A rise of 10% in you minimum means you are in PEM that day.
I only have a basic Polar FT1 chest strap monitor which shows ongoing heart rate, and when the session ends gives the average and max heart rate but not minimum. Does the method work with the average too?
I can watch for the minimum visually, (except when the monitor starts cycling between heart rate/duration/time) but my minimums are usually when I am dropping off to sleep again. Would this even count?
