The story is interesting. He mentions the anger he felt when he realized his physician was ignorant of it. I appreciate how we are all attacking the need for change on many fronts.
Some are doing research, others are doing public advocacy, some are providing information to patients, some are working toward physician education.
Rik takes the approach of helping people with their day to day, close to home issues. He wants families to understand the illness so they will be more supportive of those who are sick.
