Can I take mometasone if I am infected with an enterovirus ?

My throat specialist has prescribed me nasonex (mometasone) for chronic inflammation of the sinuses. She wants me to take it long term. I read in this meds's side effects that it should not be taken if you have an untreated viral infection as it could make it worse (it's a corticosteroid). I told her I was infected with an enterovirus but she said nothing about that.

Does anybody know anything about that ? Last thing I want is to make my ME worse by trying to cure my sinuses...
