Can anyone recommend ME/CFS Dr in Portland OR?

Hi,

I'm flying to Portland tomorrow to spend Christmas with my sister. I am from Ireland and there is no specialist for ME/CFS in Ireland as of yet. I have private health insurance and travel insurance and hope to get them to pay for consultations and treatments as I've only been in the US a week and have had multiple symptoms flare as well as kidney and yeast infection barely kept at bay by baking soda and cranberry tablets. If anyone has tips how to approach international coverage with my private travel/medical insurance and/or could recommend a specialist worth seeing in Portland or Seattle I would be forever grateful. Thank you!

I have seen Dr. Vosloo; he's aggressive in treatment, but I think well worth your while. He's a naturopath so don't know if your insurance will cover it. There is no one in Oregon who can help - 2 entire people I can think of- that takes insurance. Dr. Liptan is a fibro doctor, there is a slim chance that your insurance would cover her visit, but you have to bill them yourself to get reimbursement. Otherwise it's off to California after getting on a wait list. Stanford takes insurance, but is very narrow in their approach. Dr. Vosloo will look at and treat everything.

I actually ended up seeing Dr. Coffin at that clinic he ran a lot of bloods. Really cool guy treated me like a person not a faker. He put me on the nemcheck protocol using a tens machine with special ear clips attaching them both to left ear concha and or tragus for 2 to 4 hours per day. Plus a high dose of fish oils and other supplements. Definitely feel like it helped the hypersensitivity. It's supposed to strengthen vagus nerve. Repair damage and reduce inflammation.

Not sure that would have done much for me. Great to be taken seriously, especially wheb you're paying, but it helps to solve the rigbt problems....:nerd:

He was only starting there. Unfortunately my insurance pulled back the cover so I left with half a solution lol. I hope you find someone that works with you too.
