Any doctors still prescribing antiretrovirals?

Long story short, I used to be drug intolerant of anti virals and antiretrovirals and now I can tolerate them.

Anyone know of any doctors still willing to prescribe antiretrovirals for XMRV or otherwise?

I have a left over supply from 2 years ago and I am getting a righteous herxheimer reaction. I want to get a refill!

Any help?

Hunter Hopkins Center in Charlotte, NC still writes prescriptions for AV if you have high EBV, CMV or HHV-6 tires. They usually prescribe Valcyte the last time I heard which was a good 6 months or more.

hi charles. if i stop viread, i get deathly ill...i mean i REALLY sick. i think it is doing something to the HERV, because I do not believe there is any XMRV.

Dr. Jamie Deckoff-Jones might prescribe ARV's because I think she mentions on her blog that she has the same experience when she stops Viread. She practices in Hawaii and maybe somewhere else.

There are many doctors prescribing antiherpetics; I think most CFS specialists would prescribe those.

Hey Daffodil!

How long have you been on Viread? Glad to see your doing ok, you should totally try LDN (4.5mg but work up to that dose )if your not on it already- it was originally used to keep HIV at low numbers before antiretrovirals were available.

Ive been on Valcyte for 4 months now and it is crazy expensive. Im hunting for co pay assistance cards lol.

I do have to take benedryl just to tolerate the Truvada Im taking now, but tolerate it I can. Its only been about 4 days and my sexual dysfunction is almost completely gone, leaving the house is less scary, much more confidence, and some minor memory improvements so far. Sleeping is still a bit hard. I want to stay on this drug Truvada for at least 6 months so I will be calling Salvato and Deckoff Jones, in fact I just left messages with both. I may want to take it twice a daym right now only once a day.

But I am in North Carolina and Deckoff/Salvato are far away...

Not sure if I got the will to drive out to Texas again, just for the antiretrovirals.

Are you able to get Viread covered by your insurance?

Thanks!
