Richard Horton, the editor of the Lancet - the journal which published the original PACE trial study - has made no bones about where he stands. He's maligned the critics of the trial and called their critiques vexatious.
Horton's response to a letter by 43 researchers was so inappropriate that Vincent Racaniello publicly accused him of acting in an "unprofessional" manner, and asserted that the Lancet can no longer be trusted. Others are suggesting that Horton's actions may be beginning to harm Lancet's reputation.
