XMRV

Discretionary

Donors who have been tested positive for XMRV, accept.

Additional Information
As there is no evidence that XMRV is implicated in human disease, a positive test is not a bar to donation.

Reason for Change
This is a new entry.

If you are sick, at least in the US, you can't donate blood.

Whether you tested positive is a moot point, IMHO.:)
Ah, but in the UK people with ME are only psychologically ill, not physically ill, right? So that would be no barrier to blood or tissue donation. Sheesh

How about, this? "When was the last time you felt well?" You say nothing until the question is asked again and you reply, "Shhhhhhhhh, I'm still counting backwards."

Or something like that.:D
