Sorry if this is an obvious question but searching only confused me.

Anyhow, a healthy person I've been updating on XMRV etc has asked me and I'd like to give good info.

Firstly, it's important to get terminology correct.
Incidence is the amount of people who become ill in any one year.
But the figure that is usually looked for is prevalence: the amount of people ill at any one time.
