Hey all, I have re-activated EBV after recovering from Covid last year. I'm wondering what has helped the most with EBV for folks here. I'm open to pharma meds as well as supplements.

Hi @chilove for me it was valacyclovir 1 gram 3xday that made the difference. I tried a lot of "natural" antivirals prior but they did not do anything. For the first 3 weeks taking valacyclovir I had a low grad fever and felt pretty fatigued, but I could somehow feel that it was helping me. Those symptoms lessened over the next 3 months and now taking valacyclovir is like drinking water for me. However, if I don't take it, the EBV symptoms come back.

Other things that helped were oxymatrine, which I started after the valacyclovir and a Russian immune stimulating medication called cycloferon.

Thanks so much Shanti, I really appreciate your response

It's been several years since I was under treatment for possible EBV. My doctor (MD/PhD) advised the supplements inosine, PABA, and DMAE. He said it was imperative to use the combination of all 3. He also advised andrographis & astragalus (but I was already taking these). In addition, he provided me with a prescription of Valtrex, but I never used it. I stayed with 100% herbs. Beyond herbs, my doctor also advised Vitamin C infusions for EBV. At one point, I had ~ 6 months of consistent infusions, which frequently included Vitamin C (but I was dealing with numerous issues). I worked up to 50 grams of Vit C.

Beyond this, I would also advise incorporation of the herbs recommended for EBV by author Stephen Buhner in his book "Herbal Antivirals." Herbs advised for EBV by Buhner include cordyceps, rhodiola, motherwort, chinese skullcap, kudzu, NAC, and more. I have used all of these with success. My doctor has also recommended most of these at some point for other reasons beyond EBV.

Following Anthony Williams suggestions for EBV is what has helped me the most which includes anti-viral diet, heavy metal detox, natural anti-virals and other immune supporting supplements. I might have tried the pharma anti-virals if my Dr. would have prescribed but she didn't feel comfortable in doing so.
