FDA has issued an Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) for ElectroCore's noninvasive Vagal Nerve Stimulation treatment for asthmatics at risk for COVID-19.

Also the Allegheny Health Network Research Institute is conducting an ElectroCore clinical trial
to determine if it can reduce respiratory distress and the need for ventilation, and to evaluate cytokine trends (cytokine storms, oxygen requirements) and decreased mortality.

Interestingly, the article states the device has been approved for migraine & cluster headaches.

And possible "anti-inflammatory" effects may come from signals sent from the brain down through the vagal nerve regulating cytokine production..

Edit: Perhaps Ron Davis & his bioengineering colleagues would be interested in this IEEE Spectrum article & in exploring possible ME/CFS applications with manufacturers of devices. @Janet Dafoe
