I guess the old saying, "caveat emptor" applies.

But it is a shame that many of us with ME/CFS are having to rely on tests obtained this way, owing to a lack of co-operation sometimes from health care providers.
I have never used Ubiome, so can't comment specifically, but hope it wasn't designed deliberately to take advantage of those who are pushed in these directions from sheer lack of support elsewhere? Let's hope it was an administrative error of some kind??

It is worse than that, it has moved on to insurance fraud, but based on scientific fraud underneath. You can read more below. I'm curious how much "research" was based on uBiome testing, and how much will be (or should be) retracted because of this. For me, any research based on uBiome tests should be ignored, but I suppose some people could argue that it is financial fraud rather than scientific fraud which has led to the charges. But for me, that is splitting hairs:
