Tramadol side effects after 1,5 years of taking

Does anyone know why after 1,5 years of taking Tramadol, I know am getting tension headaches on the next day. I am taking not more than 50 mg acute and if 100 mg retard.
Now I can't cancel out the body pain (joint and body aches) without knowing that it comes with pretty bad consequences.
Why did this happen?
Tramadol helped so well against pain. I am frustrated, I don't want to live with this constant pain.
Does anyone has a similar experience or know why this happened?

It might be just a tolerance to tramadol. I have used tramadol for years for lower back pain but it's not helping much of late. This has happened to me in the past and I've taken a break from it for a month or so while taking a different medication and then went back on tramadol and it helped again.

Palexia is another alternative to ask your dr about.

I have taken Tramadol for months, and then suddenly gotten very ill from it; nausea, vomiting, flu like symptoms. The first time it happened, I didn't think that the Tramadol had caused it. It took me three days to recover. And then, as soon as I took it again, the same thing happened. Years later, I gave it another try and the same thing happened again, so I avoid Tramadol.

You can have tolerance issues to the different individual ingredients used by each maker, is it the same brand of tramadol that you have always taken? Even if it's the same med, check the current ingredients anyway in case there's been a formulation change.

Yeah thanks I will have a look at it. Also I found someone with the exact same problem and since she takes it in liquid form headaches are gone. So I will try that as well. Thanks for idea though

Tramadol readily dissolves in water to make a liquid form of it. It would be interesting to see if doing so would also stop your headaches just due to starting with a more diluted form of the ingredients.

You think? I don't see the benefit, if it's diluted before or in my stomach. Right now I am at max 50 mg and it somehow doesn't triggers headache if I don't take it every day, but it barely masks the pain. Well maybe I try your idea for what it's worth, can't lose much ...

There is an herb called chuchuhuasi that is a pain killer. I got some on ebay, I'm not sure if its as strong as tramadol but it works. Maybe someone could switch to that and after a month or two the trams might start working again. You get tired of one and go to the other
