Tolerance withdrawal after less than 2 months of 1mg clonazepam?

I’ve been on clonazepam 1mg (4x.25) per day for about 7 weeks. I know many think it was a horrible idea but I was in such a bad situation that I was ready to end it all. My light and sound intolerance were just unbearable and we had construction starting at our house and I don’t think I could have coped with all that noise w/o the clona. The clonazepam worked pretty well and massively reduced my light and sound intolerance, as well as giving me more energy.

Anyways, 5 days ago I got suddenly very nauseous out of nowhere and been feeling a bit sick since. I have very little appetite, constipation, bloating and stomach cramps. Other than that I feel weak, more fatigued than usual and also on edge a bit. Could this be tolerance withdrawal, even after I’ve only been on this med for such a short time? My GI symptoms seem very similar to what they call ‘benzo belly’, is it possible that you get tolerance withdrawal with such a sudden onset? Or am I just freaking out for no reason and have maybe just a mild stomach virus?

See my additional comments on this in the other thread ... too tired to copy and pate ....

Clonazepam (Klonopin) stops my symptoms almost completely

Actually, 1 full mg is a pretty large starting dose, even at .25 four times a day. Not sure why your Dr prescribed it that way other than its shorter half-life, but I regard it as fairly irresponsible ... Klonopin is wicked hard to get off of, and the more of it you've stoked your brain with, the harder it gets ....

Hey, no explanations necessary. Sometimes we just gotta do what we gotta do, and your situation sounds like it would have been hellish without some sort of help ... dealing with tolerance withdrawl may be hellish, but it's better than dealing with, you know, being dead ....

EDIT .... for another in a loooooong string of typos ....

Really? Because he mentioned that he thought 1mg is a pretty low dose

Yeah I fully understand that. However I’ve been on it very short so that should make it a bit easier don’t you think? Like I read people being on it for years everywhere

It's not.

Roche, the pharma companu that manufactures Klonopin, recommends a starting dose of .25 to .50 mgs MAX, and for a duration of no longer than 6 weeks .... and thse are the people who want to sell as muc of this crap as possible , sooooooo ....

I've read in several threads on this site about patients who were on lower doses than yours for just a couple of weeks who went thru tolerance withdrawal.

This could be attributed to kindling, which is the phenomenon of having a current drug's negative effect, like tolerance withdrawal, amplified by previous prescription meds that might have been stopped several years before the current incidence ...

Ok, that’s interesting, because I was on Ativan for a few months before clonazepam and then tapered that off before I started using clonazepam

Bingo !!! You've been on benzos longer than you first thought ....
Yeah… although I was basically off Ativan before I started (and was always on a low dose). But yeah good point. Still hoping it isn’t withdrawal. Belly symptoms have improved a lot today but am experiencing adrenaline rushes and high HR. Let’s see how it develops…

The point is that your brain and CNS were already battered by the various effects of the Ativan, whether you were still on it when you started Klonopin or not.

The 'kindling' effect doesn't care how long you were off something you took previously, it reacts when you start something else that triggers the same pathways, and it'll pick up where you previously left off ....

Still, am hoping that you're dealing with a passing flu ....
