Dysphagia came on early in my ME. Basically, I had swelling along my esophagus that was making me gag and it was so difficult to swallow that I had to eat softer food and eat smaller portions. The specialist just diagnosed it as swelling from acid reflux which was a misdiagnosis. It wasn't nerve damage.

Many viral infections trigger increased inflammation through upregulating a pathway called Nf-kb. If this happens in your throat you can develop dysphagia. Absorbable forms of curcumin stop this virally induced inflammation. I like C3 time released curcumin for cost and convenience since it lasts 12 hours.

My dysphagia is different. It’s not caused by swelling.
