Taking Celebrex for inflammation

I plan to start meds and supplements for long-term cfs triggered by a chronic viral infection and more recent Lyme-like illness - likely babesiosis. I have moderate migrating joint and muscle pain that I can live with but I wonder what others think about adding Celebrex or similar alternative anti-inflammatory to the anti-virals and antibiotics and supplements I plan to try. Do people commonly use Celebrex to relieve pain or is there some synergistic benefit that reducing the inflammation helps the meds work better? I'd rather not add any more stress to kidneys and liver than is already there from the other meds.

Thanks, I started checking those out. I think I may have asked a question for which there is no answer though. I'll look at other alternatives and assume anti-inflammatories are just temporary relief of symptoms and that the moderate joint and muscle pain may disappear on its own if other treatments get at the cause of it.

SOS......Could use some help here from people smarter than I am.

I had a seizure (apparently) fell and fractured my pelvis in 5 places, lumbar area in 1 and have severe arthritis in knee of the same side (l.). The fractures have to heal on their own....yes, I've been to the hospital, had tests and I'm trying very hard to make a comeback, but it's going to be months before anything happens. I'm not ignoring people, didn't know how bad it was myself and I'm "Lost in Wonderland" at the moment. To make things worse, all of our computers are down and I'm stuck with a Chrome....which hasn't helped at all.

Could anyone kindly figure out the least harmful anti-nflammatory drug that i can freely use at the moment. This is pain that's worse than anything I've experienced....apparently even Evel Knievel agreed with that one...pelvic fractures are the worst. So I'm stuck surrounded by every piece of medical equipment known to man, but it's meds that are going to make the different. Curcumin keeps me awake....& I do take Milk Thistle when I take the anti-inflammatories.

Any ideas would be more than appreciated....you have no idea. The PT was here two days ago and basically told me that I'm going to have to get out of this one by myself. Big help. He's right, though, even if a bit short of empathy. So any suggestions would be given to a most grateful patient. Thanks. Yours, Lenora.

I'm so sorry that your doctors are not helpful here. Since it sounds like you need pain relief, could it be possible to ask your doctor to recommend a pain specialist? I know that options for pain management are limited, but a pain specialist might be helpful...

Hi @Pyrrhus.......Thanks for answering.

I'm one of the "lucky" ones and I know it. I have doctors available for pretty well everything I need, and doctors who will refer me to them. My problem is the amount of different pain I have, the surgeries and even the sheer nos. of doctors that I can see. Yes, I can have things like fentanyl, but it doesn't do me much good anyway. I can also have implants, but upon reading about them, they're something for the future when they don't wear out within a year and can reach our demands.

No, what I want now is an anti-inflammatory that isn't going to lead to even more trouble, with perhaps an end-date in sight for the repair of the pelvic and other problems I have, Today's just hasn't been a great day, that's all, and tomorrow I may be wondering why I made such a fuss over so little. One hopes! At least that's what I'm telling myself! I'll have a chat with myself...grow up and all that. Yours, Lenora.
