De Meirlier says that sulfate-reducing bacteria are the source of hydrogen sulfide in the gut in CFS patients.

But there are sulfur-reducing bacteria as well, and these also produce hydrogen sulfide.

Does anyone know if sulfur-reducing bacteria are also implicated in CFS?

Sulfate-reducing bacteria include: streptococcus, enterococcus and prevotella.

Sulfur-reducing bacteria include: proteus, campylobacter, pseudomonas and salmonella.

Sulfate = SO4
Sulfur = S
