Seeking Tips for Visiting Dr. Klimas’s Office Affordably

Could anyone recommend tips for visiting Dr. Klimas’s Office from out of state?
Ex. Favorite:
-sites to book flights, do you like one airline more than another? Do you prefer Ft. Lauderdale airport to MIA?
-transport between airport, lodging and Nova SE- Uber vs car rental?
-places to stay
-Places to eat?

When I’ve been in the past I’ve used Google Flights or Secret Flying used flexible dates and traveled alone. I’ve stayed at AirBnB’s with some type of kitchen or kitchenette, bought groceries and brought tea from home.
I found that renting a car at the airport was more affordable than using Uber.

I wondered if there are any people in the M.E. community that live near M.E. specialists that rent rooms to patients traveling from out of town?

Thanks

I just came back from there. I don't know where you really are health wise or what symptoms you mostly struggle with. I had to fly on a private plane because I have been so sick lately and that was hell too.

When I did look at commercial airlines, it was cheaper to fly in to Miami and make the drive the rest of the way. There are fortunately a ton of hotels in the area, you may be able to speak with someone at NOVA, I think they have some suggested hotels that give discounted prices for patients... I don't know of anyone with CFS in the area although I'm sure there are.

You’re in NC? FWIW, Dr. Laura Black in Charlotte just got a very favorable review for thorough work up of PWC.
Try the search function. It might be worthwhile to check her out - save you wear and tear?

Re: PH1413
I WISH I HAD KNOWN ABOUT THIS PLACE YRS AGO.

...It was an extremely thorough visit (cognitive testing on a computer, tilt-table, VO2, anaerobic threshold testing on a bike, 10 vials of blood drawn/sent out)....

Thank you, I’m sorry to hear that you are so sick, but I’m thankful that you have the means to travel via a private plane and stay in a hotel. I hope that your visit was helpful and that you have access to their treatment recommendations. Thanks again.

Thank you, that’s great information to know. I bookmarked Dr. Black’s profile. I can’t afford to go to Hunter Hopkins, but you never know😊

Hi guys.

Can you give me economic details of Klimas and deadlines?

Thank you very much for your attention.

NSDN, I'm sure it varies from patient to patient depending on time spent, tests run, and who you see...

I would say be prepared for 3-4k out of pocket. I talk to the NP tomorrow at 11 about the rest of my test results that are supposed to be in.

Thank you. How can I get the rates in writing? Deadline to hold the consultation with Klimas?

You would have to call them, they are great people with a great facility but they can be hard to get through to depending on who answers. If you have trouble, send me a personal message and I'll see if I can help you out. I know some of their people that are involved in the fund raising and they are very sweet.

Any help would be good. I do not speak English. Right now I am using a translator.
