This is one of the reasons we can't trust the IOM decisions. It has been discussed, though not in detail. They had a highly selective interpretation of the evidence. They will argue theirs is evidence based. Many would argue they are misusing the idea of evidence based.

Its important to recall that these kinds of claims come and go, and are often not properly replicated, fail replication, or are misunderstood. That is why the IOM will argue an evidence based process, and prioritize research that meets their tick-box criteria.

In MS finding a reliable diagnostic tool changed medical perception. In gastric ulcers having a cure for most ulcers eventually changed perception, but it took a decade and a huge fight from patients. The medical profession simply failed to pick up on H. pylori research for a very long time.

This is from March 2013. Why hasn't this gained traction in the discussions I've seen here of GWI, the OMI contract, etc.? Did I just miss it?
I like having these topics brought up again, for anyone who missed them the first time.

I did find a thread for you, with not many replies. http://forums.phoenixrising.me/inde...show-brain-changes-in-gulf-war-illness.22439/

As well as http://forums.phoenixrising.me/inde...logical-evidence-of-gulf-war-illnesses.23764/ and http://forums.phoenixrising.me/inde...logical-evidence-of-gulf-war-illnesses.23765/

This is related and from 2011. http://forums.phoenixrising.me/index.php?threads/brain-problems-found-in-gws.12226/
