Red Palms

Hi jimbob,

For the first several decades with CFS I had severely white palms - no colour. All of a sudden, while on very high antioxidant therapy, I developed Rudolph the Reindeer palms. It worried the hell out of me because it looked like a red pen had leaked and it had gone all over my palms. I actually looked for the pen and ink for a minute or so: no sign whatsoever. This stopped within hours, but ever since I have had normal palms, although sometimes they do go a little red - right now they are a healthy shade of all-over pink.

Bye
Alex

A few years ago, I saw an infectious disease specialist who noted in his report that I had what is called "palmar erythema". Is that what you are referring to? Nothing came out of it but I guess he thought it was worth writing it down.

In my case, I also suffer from erythromelalgia. But, I believe that was not it since my hands were not boiling hot when he looked at them.

Amazing you should bring this up. I was only discussing this with my husband last night and googling it, trying to find out what it is. My palms are very red!

hi found this at http://www.wikidoc.org/index.php/Red_Palms it's a differential diagnosis list for red palms, it includes hemachomatosis(ironoverload) hyperthyroidism and sytemic lupus erythematosus all of which get misdiagnosed as cfs worth getting them checked out if you havn't already good luck
