Questions for confirmed viral sufferers.

@Hip

I had a terrible bout of illness after going on a camping trip and accidentally mistaking potable for non-potable water that was left in a container about 10 years ago. The region I went camping in as researched by my girlfriend actually had a spate of cases of Brucella infections in that time/area due to farming/agriculture operations nearby.

After the initial exposure to whatever it was, some symptoms lingered, especially increased GI issues along with slowly increasing issues such as fatigue, skin rashes, memory/concentration problems etc. It wouldn't surprise me at all if that was one of the key points of exposure to something that got the whole CFS-ball really rolling.

It's a hypothesis on our behalf, but I agree, I need to find an infectious disease specialist that can test me to find out what it might be.

Thanks again for your help, along with everyone else, it's very much appreciated.

Well, that also is interesting and disconcerting, I believe I read somewhere that viruses tend to flourish in warmer temperatures, and that low body temperature regulation can actually hedge against viral proliferation to some extent.

Have you been tested for orthostatic intolerance or dysautomonia issues?

Your original post of symptoms suggest this may be a factor.

I'm not so sure viruses flourish in warmer temps.

Maybe someone would find this interesing, bacteria and viruses work together. The person who wrote the blog is considering beneficial bacteria, but imagine that non-beneficial bacteria might serve the same purpose.

Virus may lead to autoimmune diseases (Sjogren's).

And this is just a thought, but I've been wondering if bacterial infections turn into autoimmune diseases more often in the past 30 years due to vaccinations and the viruses they put into the body.

Doctors here don't like to go into that stuff, but my adrenal function is garbage, that much I have documented proof of, and I would say a lot of other symptoms I have could be associated with nervous system dysfunction. That only explains some of my problems however.

Very interesting, and not surprising at all, I've never had a problem with probiotics until a few months ago when I tried some and I had some really unpleasant side effects.

As far as epstein barr causing auto-immune problems, that doesn't surprise me either, Just another reason why I need to get on the valgancyclovir train if it happens to be a relevant issue to me.

Chriswolf, check out hypothalamus, it controls a lot of things, and I've seen it mentioned with respect to various pathogenic type diseases.

Dizziness, sweating, heat rising up my neck (without fever) were my very first symptoms when I got sick last year. Went to Dr and had high ebv titers which was likely reactivation. Dizziness/vertigo severe sudden onset Oct 17th and continues to this day. So far, only ebv found from testing. Horrible sweating when I try to do daily activities such as dishes/laundry. Make me think of a flare up of my original ebv.
