Question regarding 23 and me

Regarding 23 and me and finding out possible gene mutations would it be possible to do this through my mothers 23 and me results instead of purchasing my own kit?

I would guess for reliable results it's best to use your own kit, perhaps unless the genes you're looking at from your mother's results are specifically mitochondrial.
