Phentermine

I know stimulants are not an everyday solution but I've been ill for 15 years trying literally hundreds of different things. I've taken phentermine on a random handful of (not consecutive) and always feel vastly better mentally And physically.

Knowing I can't take this everyday I am just curious if anyone else has improved their quality of life and what was their protocol was or run into dangers with phentermine.

I want to hear both positive and negative but in either case I am really interested in actual experiences over speculations on stimulates in general or biochemistry and physiology. Thank you.

I have taken Phentermine once, as well as Ritalin. Both helped. So I asked a Doctor for a trial, based on this experience, when I became severely ill.

I was given some other ADHD drug, can't remember it's name, but I didn't have a positive experience.

It was like racing the engine on a car running out of gas.

I do, however, use coffee and recently licorice and ginseng with rather good results.

Stimulant tends to make you feel better temporarily then crash you (because you will over do). If you know is just to make you feel better and not do more, I think might be ok. I haven't tried that way (my doctor had me in it for a month and did not end well).

Thanks, this is kind of what I expected to hear. Curious if anyone is able to take any stimulant once or twice a week to get a couple of decent days without big crashes (assuming you don't way overdo)?

Post Exertional Malaise (PEM) is something to be respected, if you don't you'll pay.

With that said, I understand were you're coming from. Many years into this illness, I still challenge it and refuse to be defeated.

You just have to learn how to fight a fight that you can win.

Support the body and learn to pay attention to the warning signs. Good luck.

Thanks for your support. I agree with what you said. I never imagined I would be asking about stimulants as it is obvious our bodies cannot support the energy use and a stimulant will cause some level of PEM and possibly longtime worsening.

But here I am after 15 years of trying seemingly everything else with little success. Small doses of phentermine make me feel half-human with improvements in everything from mental clarity to OI. With obvious limitations by taking phentermine I can function at some level without thinking about how bad I feel. To me, depending on the situation one good half-human day followed by one really awful day (taking phentermine one day) might be better than two regular awful days (not taking phentermine). I don't know if this is how it would work in the long run or if there are other consequences, which is one reason why I started this thread. I appreciate the thoughts.

That sounds reasonable. I use modafinil a few times a week with no real issues but then i dont think of it as a stimulant but more an awakener.
