Pain in Foot Toe seems Bunion

My father feeling pain in his foot toe feeling deformity in the joint at the base of the big toe. Does tight shoes cause bunions? we visited the doctor and he offered some suggestions:

• Wear shoes with a wider toe box
• Wear softer shoes or special pads/inserts
• Wear a spacer between your big and second toe
• Apply ice
• Try cortisone injections.

What is good for her do you guys experienced this before? wearing shoes for bunions work ?

I did online search and found some suggestions for bunions cares. Many people suggesting same as above doctor recommendations some people saying wear shoes for bunions also work. what should I try.?

Definitely use the wider shoes as tight shoes can make bunions worse. You can also get specialized orthotics that stop the progression.
