There is a new chat program on the Forum. If you look down at the bottom of the page you can see a new chat option on the Forum. If you click on the # of people visiting (which seems to be a bit off - at least according to what VBulletin says) you can see people who are on the Forum.
General Chat - If you want to be in a 'general chat' with anybody on the Forum you can enter into that chat room.
Private Chat - you want to start a new private chat with someone browsing the forums you can click on their name and ask them to chat. If you want to bring someone else into the conversation simply drag their name into the discussion to invite them.
If you don't want to chat you can turn off your chat option or remove the chat screen - its rather large - by clicking on the wheel.
