The need for new antibiotics is huge ofc with complicated infections like lyme, mycoplasma, chlamydia pneumoniae and bartonella. I read about a new antibiotic class bisphosphocin
that destroys the cell membran of bacteria both gram positiv and negative. Its in research and has a long way to go, just beeing phase 2 right now for a topical version. But it seems interesting and it can be much more effective than antibiotics we have right now. But most antibiotics will not reach phase 3 or even rarer pass phase 3 so we see.
