These kind of seminars give me hope that there is still something in XMRV.

I would have thought that if behind the scenes other research into XMRV was totally discrediting the WPI study as contamination/incorrectly applied research technique etc. in M.E patients, that Dr Mikovits would be sidling out of any further public discussions on this topic! However she is not, so she is either like a dog with a bone still believing strongly in the WPI's published research or she is a shortsighted fool.

There has been mention before about chronic Lyme and MS being possibly connected to XMRV but this may be the first time I've seen it listed as part of the announcement for a seminar. Bit of a bold move so it tells me the evidence must be mounting.

Dr. Mikovits was co-author of the pivotal paper "Detection of an
Infectious Retrovirus, XMRV, in Blood Cells of Patients with Chronic
Fatigue Syndrome" in the October 2009 issue of Science magazine. She
continues to be a leader in XMRV research as the Research Director of
the Whittemore Peterson Institute for Neuroimmune Disease (WPI)
associated with the University of Nevada in Reno, Nevada.
