NIH VideoCast - Long Covid: A Brief Overview

In this 1-hour video Dr. Ziyad Al-Aly describes what is being called "earthshaking research" into the causes, risks of contracting, and complications of Long COVID.

He and his team at the St. Louis VA Center studied over 73,000 veterans who had had COVID comparing them to 5 million who hadn't.

Study results were published in the journal Nature in April 2021, "High Dimensional Characterization of Post-acute Sequelae of COVID-19" [open source].

His most recent study "Long COVID After Breakthrough SARS-CoV2 Infection" was just published, July 2022 [open source.]

Dr. Al-Aly serves on the White House Interagency Policy Committee and recognizes the vital role Long COVID patient advocacy groups are playing in research.

Outstanding research, worth a watch. ME/CFS mentioned.
