""Serious doubt has been cast on the theory that... chronic fatigue syndrome is caused by a new retrovirus," The Guardian reported. The newspaper said researchers from London have failed to replicate findings from the US that suggested a possible role for a virus called XMRV in causing CFS, also known as ME.."

Simon Wessely's colleague, Ben Goodacre, works for the Guardian, a newspaper that only presents the Wessely school of thought on M.E.

XMRV+ UK patients in the Science Journal cohort

The Guardian article fails to mention that a number of the Science article's XMRV + individuals came from the U.K. :( This fact alone throws a different light on the conclusion. Is there a right of reply to this biased piece of journalism?

Just noticed that this article was last updated on Jan 6th. Dr Judy announced on the 22nd that her study included a number from the UK. Have any of our scientifically minded folk the energy to reply to this outdated article?
