A new finding about how immune cells in the gut switch from a protective state to a damaging state in IBD. Early research, so don't get too excited. My first thought was that ME might affect this state-switch in some people. I expect that even a minor shift (unnoticed on typical test results) in some ratios of cellular reactions due to ME could cause significant problems in the gut.
