I just caught the tail end of his interview. Interesting to see a researcher I've heard so much about!

He mentioned hydroxyquinolone as a possible treatment but I didn't see enough of the interview to understand why he was recommending that.

Anyways, Rachel Maddow replays in a couple of hours on MSNBC, it might be worth seeing the whole interview,.

Can't seem to find that drug in this list of drugs which are being tested for efficacy against coronavirus.

There is a hydroxychloroquine on the list though, which is similar-sounding; could that have been it?

There was another thread on this topic a few days ago: https://forums.phoenixrising.me/thr...-plaquenil-and-the-covid-19-coronavirus.79447

One of the papers cited there stated:
Hydroxychloroquine shares the same mechanism of action as chloroquine, but its more tolerable safety profile makes it the preferred drug to treat malaria and autoimmune conditions.

That's quite possible! and definitely makes more sense . . .

Don't worry, I get drug names wrong all the time. One of the dopamine boosting drugs I am taking I can't even pronounce!

I am wondering if quinine will also work, only because I happen to have 3 boxes of quinine tablets. Chloroquine is a derivative of quinine. You also get 83 mg of quinine in a liter bottle of tonic water. The quinine tablets I have are 300 mg each.

That would make a very interesting experiment, but I hope it's one you never have to make!

Here's another link to a post by @Sarah94 with info on melatonin and ascorbic acid for reducing COVID damage, duration ....

https://forums.phoenixrising.me/threads/covid19-and-melatonin.79471/

Ya'll have possibly wondered, as have so many includng myself, why it is exactly that children, and women deep into their pregnancy, seem to have an invisible shield when it comes to COVID-19, either avoiding it entirely or getting such mild cases as to be negligible. A series of researches arrived at the conclusion that it was their infinitely higher production of melatonin, peaking at about 10 or 11. Pregnant women in the 2nd or 3rd trimester also produced comparatively huge amounts of melatonin.

The article goes into details about dosing, amounts, co-factors, timing, and a bunch of other helpful input. There's a long and impressively unreadable list of books, articles, studies on this that will be of interest to the more science-y types among us, or the more skeptical.

I've started kicking up the melatonin/ ascorbic acid/ magnesium (important for melatonin uptake) according pretty much to the directions in the article (I've excerpted them, so if you just want to cut to the chase, it's there in that thread) and would like to thank @Sarah94 once again for this, at least for me, just in time article.

We'll see how that goes.

Will report back with anything of interest. I'll try very hard to remember to, since silence will probably not be a particularly positive sign :xeyes::xeyes::xeyes:.....

I used to be prescribed that drug, brand name plaquenil, by an me/cfs specialist. Never helped me much. but didn't hurt either. Wonder If there's any left sitting around at my old home

I was on and off Plaquenil / Hydroxychloroquine for a few years as part of multi-drug regime while undergoing treatment for Lyme Disease. It was popular to prescribe for Lyme back then some 15 years ago but don't know if it still is. It's also used for malaria.

I never noticed any benefit from it either.
