I cured ME by becoming a Norse god, but it is harder now to get through airport metal detectors...

Like all good superheroes!

You wouldn't know it from the recent films, but, in the original comic book, Odin attempted to teach Thor humility by banishing him to Earth in the form of a disabled young physician named Dr. Donald Blake. Blake had no memory of being Thor, but he eventually discovered that his walking stick was Thor's hammer in disguise.

Hilarious. What else can you do with an idiotic story like this but mock it.
It just so happens that I cured my ME by becoming a warrior princess too.
Now I slay Orcs and defend innocents from CBT and GET.
I am Eowyn. . . who'd have guessed. Lounging on my couch is my disguise.

Mockery does suit this article though. I am happy that Becky recovered, but the reporting is poor, and I think that a good dose of incredulity seems warranted.

It is worth keeping in mind that at least one ME specialist has noted that nearly all who recover, which is a small minority, do so in the first year. From other specialists we hear that most of the remainder who eventually recover do so in the next two years. After five years very few spontaneously recover.

Somewhere on Facebook (it might have been the ME Association page) some-one connected to this girl said that she was totally devastated with how the paper had twisted the facts of her story.

So there is more at play here. :(
I'm genuinely sorry for her if that's the case, but I'm surprised it didn't occur to her that when the journos asked her to don lipstick and lingerie and pose seductively for the photoshoot this might be a sign that they were unlikely to be primarily concerned with an accurate depiction of the facts.

So it's possible she is a genuine ME patient and the newspaper have totally misrepresented her and all of the rest of us too.
That's awful, I'm so sorry for her if that is what happened.
